Equipment Details & Installation Guide

Want to know more about how our digital MP3 player works? You've come to the right place. Below you'll find photos and information about our MP3 unit, including advanced details that you normally might not ask about. Should you have an additional question regarding our unit operation, please feel free to contact our support team.

What's in the box?

Here's everything you'll find in the MP3 Package from M-line Media.

Starting at the lower left, you'll find the power supply. It's a simple 2 prong unit, with a USB Mini port on the end. Above the power supply is our accessories bag. In that bag, you'll find two wall mount screws, a pair of ear buds for testing your unit, and a 3.5mm to RCA adapter. The adapter is used to connect our unit to your Cisco UC phone system via the cable provided by State Farm. The white cased unit is the digital MP3 player. More details about it specifically can be found in the next entry of this section. To the right of the unit, is your USB drive. It will contain the most recent copy of your production from M-line. If it doesn't, you'll need to use a personal computer to load your file to it.

MP3 Player Details (SB100)

Our MP3 Player is advanced and unique, but simple.

The photo on the left is of the volume buttons, each indicated by the arrows above them. These small buttons will 'click' when pressed and do not work if held down. This gives you precise control over your volume level. The middle image is an angle view of our MP3 unit, with the power and adapter plugged in. Use this image to better understand how the adapter plugs into the unit. On the right, you'll see four USB ports, and an Ethernet port. The Ethernet port is unused at this time but will later enable remote update capabilities. Of the USB ports, any of them can be used when updating your unit. We do suggest that you only use one USB drive at a time when doing this.

Whether your upgrading from an existing unit, or installing it for the first time, these steps will help you get your MP3 unit up and playing in no time. Follow each step carefully and don't hesitate to call us if you need a little extra help.

Step 1
Using the included power supply, plug it into an available outlet, and plug the other end into the MP3 unit, just under the lightning bolt. Take careful notice which way to flip the USB Mini connector to avoid damaging the port. The widest part of the connector should be facing up if the unit is laying flat. The unit takes approximately 1 minute to boot, so continue these steps while it does.

Step 2
Remove the cable adapter from the accessories bag and plug it into the audio port on the MP3 unit. If you have an existing unit, this cable replaces the older RCA to RJ-11 cable. Next, plug the RJ-11 end (phone jack) into your UC Call Router. If replacing an existing cable, be sure to use the same port. If the port shown is used up, call ISC to ask which port on your router is configured for Messages On-Hold.

Step 3
Once the unit has had time to boot, you may insert the included USB drive from the box. The drive should contain your latest production file, if it doesn't, you'll need to use a personal computer to copy it onto the drive. Any of the USB ports can be used as shown, but we recommend only using one USB drive to update your unit.

Step 4
That's it! You should now call your office and test to make sure you're hearing the music and messages you ordered. If you hear anything other than that, please consult our FAQs before contacting us. Most of the time, a simple call to ISC is needed to make sure your phone settings are correct. Of course, if you do need help, give us a call or send us an email.
